Who we are

Kaojai is a multi-user language-learning application operated by Kebayoran Technologies, Pte. Ltd. (“we”, “us”), served at kebayorantechnologies.com/language-learning. This policy explains what information the app collects, why, and where it is stored.

Information we collect

We collect only the data needed to provide the service:

  • Account details — your email address and a display name. Your password is never stored in plain text; we keep only a one-way hash (argon2).
  • Study content — the vocabulary, decks, lessons, notes, and links you create or import.
  • Uploaded photos — images you upload so the app can extract vocabulary from them, plus any images generated for your cards.
  • AI provider API keys — if you supply your own OpenAI, Google, or Anthropic key, it is encrypted at rest and used only to make requests on your behalf.

How we use it

We use your data solely to run the app: to authenticate you, store and display your study material, generate translations, images, and the voice-avatar practice session, and send account email such as address verification and password resets. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use third-party advertising or behavioral tracking.

Where it is stored

  • Account and study data live in a PostgreSQL database.
  • Uploaded photos and generated images are stored in a Google Cloud Storage bucket.
  • Account email (verification, password reset) is delivered through our email provider, Resend.

AI providers

When you generate translations, images, or practice with the voice avatar, the relevant study text or photo is sent to the AI provider whose key is configured (OpenAI, Google, or Anthropic) to fulfil that request. Those requests are subject to the respective provider’s terms and privacy policy.

Cookies

The app sets only first-party session and authentication cookies needed to keep you signed in. It sets no third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Your choices

You may request deletion of your account and associated data, or ask what we hold, by contacting us. We respond to reasonable requests in accordance with applicable law.
